Working at FML
FML is a firm apart. Founded in the entrepreneurial spirit in 2002, the once scrappy upstart has become a powerhouse of accounting and advising talent headquartered in Southern New England with global reach. The founders of FML came from a “Big Four” accounting environment. In establishing FML, we wanted to strike a balance by creating an accounting firm that was built using a national firm blueprint of fostering advanced technical abilities and adding value for clients through long-term relationships. In addition, we strive to foster a culture where people enjoy both what they do and the people with whom they work. We set out to grow an environment where employees feel valued and enriched through exposure to complex clients and technical issues.
FML is always seeking top talent for staff and internship openings.

Work Hard. Live Well.
As a mid-sized firm with five offices, FML is a dynamic and energized workplace. Our experienced partners approach every client, challenge, and competitive inter-departmental tax vs. audit flag football game with enthusiasm and dedication. Some of the ways we help connect staff include scheduled and impromptu happy hours, seasonal softball and basketball teams, golf outings, pub crawls, paint nights, escape rooms, tours, trivia, and more.

Continuing Professional Education
At FML, we are always looking for driven individuals who are enthusiastic about learning a client’s business, understanding their challenges, and finding the right solutions. Our goal is to work with the best people and to cultivate the talent of seasoned professionals with previous experience in public accounting, graduates seeking their first public accounting position, or interns looking for exposure to our dynamic environment.
Nearly 90% of those selected to intern with FML go on to full-time employment with the firm. We view our internships as a driver for selecting and raising up the best entry-level talent into our own ranks.
Internships at FML
FML offers select new graduates a unique opportunity to work in a challenging technical environment that provides exposure to a diverse public and private client base in a variety of industries and stages of development.
Structured similarly to national firms with separate audit and tax departments, FML will allow you to become an expert in your area of practice while learning from some of the best in the industry.
Internship Opportunities / Process
Many graduates begin their careers at FML after participating in one of our paid internship programs. We offer a limited number of internships in both winter and summer in order to provide a work experience that mirrors what a full-time staff audit or tax professional would encounter. This process also allows students to determine the type of professional environment they wish to work in when they graduate. You’ll be doing valuable work, not busy work.
A quick overview of our internship process:
- Paid summer and winter internships typically start in June and January
- Generally last 10-12 weeks or as guided by University requirements
- Separate internships focused on Tax, Audit, or Accounting Services available
- Resumes, cover letter and transcript required for consideration
- Internships are filled on a rolling basis
